Whalley is a village in rural Lancashire. 4 miles to the South of Clitheroe. 7 miles north of Burnley and Blackburn. 13 miles to the East of Preston. 25 miles to the north of Manchester.
It has a train station on routes from Manchester, Bolton and Clitheroe.
Yes, there are two pay and display car parks within Walley village. These are to the rear of Co-op (2 hours max stay) and The Swan pub (long stay, accessed from Accrington Road between Precious and Theofano). These cost £1 per hour via card but as they are privately operated, please take care to enter your registration correctly as they both have cameras and regularly issue fines.
In addition there is limited free on road parking within the centre of the village (2 hours max, no return within 2 hours) and other parking on surrounding streets, but please read signs and park considerably to avoid adversely impacting our friendly local residents.
While we accept both cash and card, it may be worth bringing some cash with you for refreshments, mechanise etc. There are two cash points in the village, one outside of the Co-op and the other by Spar.
We will have hot drinks and cakes at St Mary’s Church between the two performances at 10.40am. There will also be a bar offering beverages including alcohol, soft drinks and snacks at The Village Hall from 1pm onwards. Whalley contains several cafes, bars, pubs and takeaways, so there are plenty of options within walking distance of the venues.

A live performance by Callum and his band. Award Winning Indie Folk from the North East of England.
Edward will be playing beautiful music from the 16th Century on a six course Renaissance lute. The lute flourished in the 16th Century and gave birth to many great composers and players. Many pieces were also composed and arranged from the folk music of the time. Edward will also be playing compositions of his own as well as Medieval music he has arranged for lute.
Edward Foster is an artist, musician, and author based in the Forest of Bowland - www.edwardfosterart.co.uk
We are delighted to have added the Whalley Wine Bar and a sponsor and a venue for our event. Further details to follow.
